WATCH: Waterford’s stunning coast road named one of world’s ‘Top 10 Most Beautiful Roads to Cycle’
A picturesque county Waterford coastal route has been named as one of the world’s ‘Top 10 Most Beautiful Roads to Cycle’.
Our stunning Copper Coast road has been included in the list compiled by the Global Cycling Network (GCN).
GCN has more than 2.2 million followers on Youtube, a million followers on Facebook and close to another million between twitter and Instagram – making it one of the most watched and followed cycling sites in the world.
The video has already been watched almost 100,000 times on Youtube.
The Copper Coast route, chosen by GCN presenter and former Irish professional cyclist Conor Dunne, starts in Rosslare and winds its ways through south Kilkenny along 166km of road before turning to the coast of Waterford, finishing in Dungarvan. (Starts at 7:37 on video)
Dunne, who has completed both the Giro D’Italia and Vuelta a Espana, now lives in Carrick-on-Suir. He embarked on a career in broadcasting and punditry with GCN after announcing his retirement from professional cycling earlier this year at the age of 27.
