Revamped three-story pharmacy and beauty rooms planned for Waterford city centre
A popular city-centre pharmacy is set to undergo a major makeover.
Mulligan’s Pharmacy on Barronstrand Street has applied for planning permission to transform its flagship store in Waterford.
In its planning application to Waterford City and County Council, Mulligan’s outlined extensive plans for a complete refurbishment of its grand floor and change of use from retail to kiosk.
It is looking to build a “revised” new entrance into Barronstrand Street, and a revamped internal layout and another new exit onto the adjourning Cathedral Lane.
Mulligan’s is looking to change it’s first floor use from office to retail, which would also include the development of a new café.
The second-floor refurb would see the existing office space turn from office space to new consultation and beauty rooms.
Planning permission is also being sought to transform the outside of the three-story building, with new wall-mounted canopies and signage at the front and a “new stone parapet at roof level”.
