No Christmas lift for Waterford Airport as Ross announces latest funding
There was no Christmas lift for Waterford Airport in the Government’s latest round of funding grants.
Transport Minister Shane Ross this week announced €3.7 million in grant aid towards the operating costs of the regional airports in Donegal, Ireland West Airport Knock (IWAK) and Kerry under the Government funded Regional Airports Programme.
Waterford Airport was not included in the latest tranche of funding. Some €375,000 was provided to the airport this year after the Government agreed to provide support to to maintain the Coast Guard’s Search and Rescue (SAR) services.
