Gardai appeal for footage of collision involving sulky and cars in Waterford city

Gardai in Waterford have appealed for witneses to the collision involving a sulky and four vehicles in the city, especially motorists who may have dascam footage of the incident.
The horse had to be put to sleep after suffering horrific injuries (picture below from Waterford Animal Welfare) in the incident, which has sparked outrage online over the past 24 hours.
Extensive damage was also caused to some of the vehicles.
A local Garda spokesperson today told WaterfordNow.ie they are following “definite lines of investigation”, but no arrests have been made so far.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident, which occurred on the Ballytruckle Road shortly before noon yesterday, is urged to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305 300.
