€100,000 facelift for Waterford’s libraries

Waterford’s libraries will be opening a new chapter with the help of a €100,000 Government grant.

The money will be used to upgrade the Central Library and branches at Dungarvan and Cappoquin. And it will help to develop the participation schemes run at all the library branches.

Waterford City and County librarian, Jane Cantwell, said the funding will allow Waterford Libraries to make its branches across the city and county more comfortable and welcoming spaces for communities.

“It will ensure that when we can welcome our customers back for all the events, classes, exhibitions and new digital services that we have been missing during Covid, our libraries will be bright, spacious and safe for everyone,” she said.

The money will supplement existing funding by Waterford City and County Council.
