Cash flows in for water schemes in two county Waterford estates
Two County Waterford housing estates are to have their water services improved under a Government scheme.
The exchequer will contribute €150,000 towards a €350,000 scheme in Newtown Park, Tramore, and €168,000 towards a €442,800 scheme for The Cloisters, Ardmore.
These housing estates have not yet been taken-in-charge by Waterford council and are not connected to the public water services network. They have been relying on temporary infrastructure provided by developers. They will now be connected to the network.
“The allocation of this funding marks the first step in the taking-in-charge of these estates by Waterford City and County Council and so the work is due to take place as speedily as possible,” explained Senator John Cummins.
“This funding will benefit many families in Waterford who have been relying on developer provided wastewater or drinking water treatment plants.”
