Popular Waterford book store finds way to beat Covid-19 shutdown

Waterford’s best-known book store is operating a delivery service for customers throughout the Covid-19 emergency.

The Book Centre shut its doors on Monday as part of the national drive to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

However, innovative staff at the store are adapting to the new Covid-19 reality and have been working flat out to deliver books and goods directly to their customers’ homes.

Manager Catherine Kavanagh told WLRfm has been inundated with calls in recent days:

A staff member today told WaterfordNow.ie can simply call up the store, place their order and give their payment details and their books, magazines or stationery will be delivered to their home the next day.

Customers can also collect their orders in the car park behind the store, where they would be met by a member of staff.

For more details, call the Book Centre on 051 873 823.
